Yes, when we went to see the show house I didn't like the dining room sectioned off, I knew it would not be used and I would end up putting a small table in the kitchen and using that and the dining room would be wasted so I just asked for no wall or door to be put in and how glad I was LOL we were able to buy an 8 seater glass dining room table with black leather chairs it really sets off the black granite on the worktops well as that was barely seen with no other black in the room. It has been so handy cos it means when we have parties everyone gathers in the kitchen/diner and there is loads of room and it's very sociable.
Colours can have different feel to them depending on their intensity, I remember when doing our sons room which is blue and white and I remember I bought a big 5 litre bucket of blue slapped it up and hatted it for 2 weeks, the room felt so cold all the time and not cosy at all so what I did was but a 2.5 litre of white paint pour out some of it into an empty container and add about 1 litre maybe a bit more of the blue and mixed it well, it really softened up the blue and made it more cosy and it lost the cold feeling.
Mocha and chocolates are so in right now and they go with everything and you can add nearly every colour in accessories, you can change the whole look of a room by just changing the accessories colors.
One thing I will say to you never go by the little picture on the front of the paint containers of what the colour looks like inside or never go by colour charts, yes let them guide you but don't depend on them being the exact same, paint always comes out darker than what is printed in the picture on the tubs of paint. Buy testers they are a life saver and paint them on the actual walls and see if it comes out the color you like and if you could live with it, all walls take paint differently and with yours being a new build like our house was the first few coats sink right into the wall changing the overall result, so use testors.
Another thing is don't buy matt paint unless it is an absolute favourite and you love the matt look, it is difficult to go on, you always need minimum 2 coats most times 3 coats and it stains and marks badly and is never washable even when they say it is on the tin, buy paint with a soft sheen or a satin not gloss the soft sheen's and satins go on so easily and they are all washable because you will be surprised how easily walls mark.
sorry for going on there a bit LOL _________________ Dee

Lol thanks Dee its OK I love talking about decorating how sad lol - but do you think it would be OK to have it open into the front room?
I dont think we will have enough space for a dining room and a front room at the moment as we still need to build the upstairs and so we will have a bedroom for the time being.
Once we have built the upstairs then we will have a dining room and a front room but for now we are going to build a temporary wall for the bedroom and then take it down to create an open space. Ideally would love to build the whole house now lol but funds just do not permit it.
Tina - I love that colour for the outside wall its really nice. _________________ Mummy 2 Kai
Oh yes the more open plan the more you can fit in, you can put your furniture in according to what you need, I love open plan it just has the wow factor. _________________ Dee

Yep I have managed to twist hubby into my thinking already lol didnt take long! open plan it is.
We still have to build an archway going around the wall and the ceiling - cant remember what its called now but to keep it stable lol as were building on top and so we have to try and follow the surrounds of the in-laws house as much as possible. _________________ Mummy 2 Kai

wow princess,
that is a beautiful picture that you posted at the front of this topic. very beautiful.
All of our walls are plain white. we rent this apartment now for $250. but, it was $225, and they had to go up $25 on the rent because of increasing of living expenses. which, i knew was coming sooner or later.
but, our little cottage is so cute and homey. it isn't that big, nor that small.
just the right size for the two of us. _________________ )O(Blessed Be,)O(

Baby pink is the color of our room. Its because this is the room where me and sister used to stay. But now this the room where me and my husband stays with our two kids, a boy and a girl.
I do not intend to change the color because everything reminds me of my sister who is living away with her husband too. Anyway the paint still looks good, maybe some other time i would change it but with the same color too or something with a fresh ambiance. _________________ RAM

My sister suggested me to have orang color to be unique and its okay with me but i have to ask my husband if he is okay with this color too if not i have to switch to mint green as he knew i really like this color other than aquamarine color
