Who of the following Philippine President - Vice President tandem 'CANDITABLES' for 2010 national elections, will you cast your vote? Why? If you don't like the pairing, you may choose yours and likewise explain your reasons why.

(1) Noynoy Aquino - Mar Rojas

(2) Gibo Teodoro - Ronnie Puno

(3) Gibo Teodoro - Noli de Castro

(4) Bayani Fernando - Loren Legarda

(5) Bayani Fernando - Chez Escudero

(6) Manny Villar - Noli de Castro

I was listening to an item about this on the BBC world service and I think it was this combination they mentioned
Gibo Teodoro - Ronnie Puno

I see you have it listed so they probably are quite accurate in the reporting,
Could they be right, please do let me know your thoughts

Ahh, poli-talk. I wanted to evade it but since this is pretty neutral territory.

While I have extreme respect for the Aquino family, I actually cringed when Noynoy announced his candidacy. With a legacy as big as the one his parents left, I felt he hadn't yet proved enough of his own capabilities to lead a country his parents risked everything trying to free/govern. That is a lot of weight to carry on inexperienced shoulders and considering the very real possibility of failure (what with the country's tumultuous governance), it would be such a height to fall on. I wanted him to sit this one out, gain more experience under his belt, showcase his talents first, before heading straight on into Presidency waters.

If Bayani and/or Escudero ran for Presidency, I will not just vote for them, I will actively try to get people to vote for them too. Along with Gordon, I think these three have the most promise out of the available candidates. Escudero has the appeal that Barak had, appearing articulate, knowledgeable, good-natured and a hit with the 18-25 age bracket. He seems like a clean slate, someone who hasn't yet been touched by the veneer of long-running government officials. He places within the 3-5 slot every time there is a poll despite never having appeared in any commercials.

Bayani and Gordon have shown that they can rule, that they have the progressive knowledge to think of the future despite the complaints due to change AND they don't back down. The last one is very important for me because this country's leaders have a long history of backing down even if what they're backing down on is to the detriment of the nation. These two consider what would be good in a long-running term as opposed to the current one (see: Gordon knowing the air base would soon be taken away and thought of possible ways his city could survive once it was gone) and right now, we really really need someone with vision leading us.

i wouldnt choose a perfect tandem..to me it's either gibo-roxas or chiz-roxas....i think these two combinations would help structural reform in the government . i feel the strength of chiz/gibo could balance the commitment of roxas....though gibo is an administration bet, i still believe in the long run, he will be his own man. on the other hand, there are still things i have to consider yet for gibo tho....for one, arroyo's accountabilities to the filipino people for all the graft and corruption issues will be thrown to the sea, and that i will be sorry for jun lozada who ruined his life in exchange for the truth... chiz has always been my choice at the start of the race, though he is young to be president at age 40, i prefer him among the rest of other presidentiables. he comes from a family of functional politicians, fairly competent, and dependable. so its not yet gibo for me, most likely chiz....still a lot of thinking for me tho.....i dont look at party affiliation, i look on the person himself, his credibility and strength to make Philippines a better country.......

I was thinking about this great tandem. It will be a powerhouse combination on this 2010 election. The question is, how Noynoy would defend the existence of Hacienda Luisita and on Mar's part, would be what can Korina share to the people next year.. It would be a great battle between the presidentiables. I am very sure that the public would benefit from it and will have a good holidays because of the funds that the politicians will release.

I would go for the tandem of Noynoy-Mar because they are one of the best name in politics. Mar contributes a lot in medicine bills and it was very useful especially to the oppressed. The latest presidential tandem is Bayani-Edu and I found it very funny. Bayani is a mean person and he treats poor people as a dog and Edu doesn't know about politics.

Chiz Escudero has withdrawn his candidacy, so those who wanted to vote for him should choose another candidate. I was pretty impressed by Gibo Teodoro when I saw his interview on TV. He's very smart. I might vote for him, but there are still other factors that need to be considered before I make my decison, such as kindness and not being corrupt (or maybe just being a little corrupt as I don't think there is a politician here who is not corrupt).

Hi Angelajoy, im sorry to say this but Gibo is just a puppet of the lastest administration. his unexpected candidacy is obviously just a tactic of Gloria. Also he is close to Gloria so i know that you know what i mean. He is indeed a smart guy, but smart guys is more dangerous and they will use there brightness for the sake of money.

Just an update it's now Gibo-Manzano

I don't see Gibo being a puppet in todays administration. He was merely doing his job. Would the defense secretary compromise the state for unproven accusations raised again Gloria? Rallies don't work and don't appeal, no not anymore. We have been to EDSA 1, 2 and 3 but where are we now.

I can't say so much about the candidates for Presidency because we never know they all have hidden agendas so it's gonna be choosing the lesser evil for me now.
