Do you think it is right for the school to keep changing yearly. I just purchased new clothes for my daughter thinking she have enough clothes for the coming school year.

Then I get a flyer in the mail that told me that the school district has changed the uniform codes, no more blue jeans, and certain colors were removed.

This is terrible, now I need to buy clothes all over again.

It happen to my son before, they would tell us green, light blue, gray and yellow was ok. Then the following school year, they send a note home that my son could not wear those colors anymore. But gosh, shirt still fairly new. And they had to be collar shirts too, so they cost quite a bit $10/pc.

I am not a fan of school uniforms.

I think school uniforms are a good idea but I would be annoyed if they changed the colour every year that is really unusual as schools like to keep the same colours.

I didn't think I would ever say this since I went to school in France and there were no school uniforms, everyone could wear whatever clothes they liked, as long as there were no miniskirts or clothes with provocative slogans on them, but I love the fact that my kids have to wear a school uniform; the school is not too strict and the kids are allowed to wear sneakers or boots instead of the black school shoes and I don't have to stare at my kids' closets every morning wondering what they have to wear!

We don't have to buy the uniforms in special shops, as the mainstream shops sell all the clothes during summer and they are usually not too expensive; my kids have to wear a white shirt with grey trousers (girls are allowed trousers now), pinafore dress or skirt and a red jumper or cardigan; I buy the tracksuit (grey bottoms and red sweater) in the school uniform shops and the last one I bought lasted my eldest daughter 2 years (it is still a bit big for my youngest but she will wear it in another year).

Of course the uniforms are only great if the school doesn't go and change the colours; there would be a massive uproar if they did that here as a lot of families are not rich!

lol, well i went to school in france too and it was great as we didnt have to wear a school uniform, kids still don't today!

I think its great being able to wear what you want to school but i do understand that in countries like england or the uk in general they impose such dress codes because, well, could you imagine the bullying if every kid could wear what they wanted? the fact that they make kids wear the same clothes means that everyone is equal and there is less bullying as a result.

My Son's school does it every 2 years and then they change their school building too, so it's major upheaval. I think many schools don't see the upset or cost of all this change.

My kids school does not have uniforms, but if they did I personally think it's wrong for them to keep changing the colors. They need to make a choice and stay with it. That not right, for the parents to have to buy them then suddenly change everything.

Well that kind of stinks that they keep changing the uniform!

We started wearing uniforms two years ago when we moved to this school district. My second daughter is wearing some of the things that we got for my first daughter, and my first daughter is actually still wearing some of those original things we bought.
