I am a software engineer.I was doing extremely well, traveled abroad, got appreciation awards all of that. But that is not where my heart was. I quit my job due to some personal reasons and have not gone back to the IT industry. I am self-employed. It has been just over a month now, but I love it. May be its too soon to tell, but I know one thing for sure. I am not as stressed as I used to be when I was in my MNC working as an engineer.
I love what I am doing and so, even 24 hours seem less now. When I traveled abroad, the salary was very good, so I saved for a rainy day. I went in for a health insurance now. So at this point, I would say self-employment and being my own boss is good!

I have worked for myself now for a few years, and to be honest, I couldnt and wouldnt ever go back to working for an employer again. I dont quite get what you are saying about the health of people, I reckon that good health is paramount to anyone who works at all, whether self employed or for an employer.
yes, i was wondering what health has to do with it. i also make a living at home. in fact i one of the reasons i am self employed is because i am disabled. i also can not deal with a boss, or being stuck in a rut every day.
I knwo how it feel.Once you start working for your self going back to employer is near to impossible.I am having same experience.
Working under any type of boss is headache.I myself hate to give explanation of anything to any one.No way i am gonna do job in my rest of the life. _________________ London bridge is falling down.
it is depence on person. for example me. i like self-employment more because i can do whatever i want and when i want. i do not need to worry that i am late, because i am a boss for myself. of course if you want to be a boss you must to have a very good head and enough money to start your own business. some people just dreaming about how to be your own boss but has no idea how to do it and if you will explain hot to be they still wait something and still dreaming... i do not know why some people doing like that, but i know many peoople whose know how to make their own business, and have really bigs amounts of money, but they are working and crying how much they would like to be the boss for theirself...
i really would like my own business, but i have no money to start it... or if i have some money than i do not know how to start.. _________________ always think twice =]
As of October 2nd, I will only have the computer help business as an income, but there is a patron at work who was told about my business by another co-worker and he wants to coordinate to pay me for my business services. My brother owes me money for two helps this past week (he said he'd pay me in October and I told him that's fine because that's when I'm going to start needing the extra money). I am going to add some services to my business as well as adding my fiance and my male best friend from high school as partners to my business which might help the income a little. Self-employment is nice if you can count on a consistent income (that's why we're going to try to add marketing a dip my friend and I created to the business services), but having a boss, you usually know when you're going to work and when you're going to get paid.
If I only have enough capital to start my own business I will do it right away... Its better to be a boss of your own business than to have a bossy boss who didn't even appreciate you...
In my opinion to this forum is that. It is better to be a self-employed if your business is running very well because there is no boss to shout you when you are late or not finished the jobs...
I am doing Job. But Also taking actively partipate in online money making. One day I will make a great site like google and wil resign from my job and Lol give jobs to other people.
I really envy those self-eimployment can do their own things, and don't need to see the boss's face, and don't need to get up at 7:00 or earlier, and don't need to play card when off work. But I think as a self-employment has their problem, because they need to undertake all business, so the pressure is very high, so it as a employee or self-employment depend on whether they have definet money or not. _________________ Make friends here

Hi Lucia! Actually i dont want to anybody who commands on me but i dont have a choice. Im not rich to build up my own bussiness so I have to apply for a job an have my own boss. Its really hard especially when you and your boss is not in good terms. _________________ my first baby..
Self employment, meaning you are the boss. You handle your own time because you are in your business and handling it yourself, your working hard to earn. No one will order you what to do but it is your thinking that will follow on how you work in you job. I am afraid to be self employed, what I want to be is to have a regular job and have a business of my own. It takes a millions of money before I will detached myself with a regular job. Maybe I am not ready to take a risk.

Hi Grey! Actually for me being self employed requires enough skills and knowledge. It is very risky to build your own business because you will have to have capital to start it and knowledge to operate it. Self employed is really great but it means a lot of responsibility. _________________ my first baby..

I also don't want to work for an employer. I would rather earn less than go to work for a boss. I felt quite tired to work with a boss. But I have not found very good projects till now, ecept I could write some articles to make a living. I like writing very much and I think writing is a good way to be a freelancer. At present I write soft text on various topic. It is very interesting.

I like the life of self-employment. I expect to open a teaching class so that I can be a free teacher. I can teach children English and I think it is interesting to teach children. Doing things for a boss is not interesting for me. I should be directed by him every day. So I will be well prepared to be a self-employment person.

Now that i am not sure if the company that i am working at is going to be stable or going to be bankrupt, I am thinking to make a business but I belive that it will take time and effort and also a capital. Self- employment is my only option because when i dont have a work anymore I still have to earn because I have to had money for my pregnancy. Company will not accept me if they knew Im pregnant. _________________ my first baby..
