One year, can't remember if it was last year or the year before, we did have a power outage here in Northern California that lasted for five days. That is very unusual here. However, there was a wind storm that hit hard and within one day knocked power off all over the state. Apparently, ours not being a metro area, we were last on the list to get power restored.

It was very strange to see sunny calm weather outdoors and yet have no power simply because of what had occurred in that one day. Most people here don't own generators because we don't expect a lengthy outage like that.

Its happening to me also. My internet connection runs so slow, that I feel like killing those guys who installed it in my pc. I m paying the full charge but getting less service. I cant run Yahoo messenger , gtalk and few sites together. One or the other would stop frequently and it makes me feel angry.

ya i have also faced internet problem when i just brought my desktop i too 6 months pack from a local service provider and it created a hell i need to call them nearly every day and had same response that they will solve the problem in an hour they were very stubborn people i have scolded them a lot but no use i had even gave a police complaint on them but here in India police is also of no use.

Thank god now i have no such problems now have got s better service provider

It is really tough to deal with things that are out of your control. I remember when I had a blackout. Then I would go crazy with nothing to do. Its a good thing that my friend still had power and I could go and hang over at their home for a while.

I had this experience that things around me makes me mad because I was under pressure then for my thesis. I ran out of money to print my thesis paper so I went to the cheapest computer rental in our school only to find out that they ran out of ink and they would be refilling after 1 hour or so with no guarantee. So I had lunch first then when I came back I saw the shop was close when it was just open an hour ago. So I just get the printing done inside the school and I would be charge by adding it to my tuition fee.
I got my papers now then I would have had let my professor checked it but then the faculty suddenly called an emergency meeting that lasted about three hours and my paper was due 2 hours after the meeting started.
My paper was graded late because of it and no matter how I explained I couldn't convince my professor
That's crazy right? but I got over it now

Oh hexeduser that is so totally unfair, seriously! I remember doing my thesis and the stress of it and then to have it marked down because of late entry when it wasn't your fault, teeth-grinding moment. Mind you I know what the professors would all say 'you should have got it printed a day earlier' - yeah, easier said than done! Glad you got over that now

Well, the internet company finally went bust, I needed service immediately so had to go out and buy a stick with the biggest company here (Claro) and then some renters in our block needed internet service if they didn't get it then they were threaten to leave and as I am looking after it for the owner... I had to give up my own personal internet stick. Gosh did that make me MAD. It isn't a really good service anyway but it is better than nothing.

Then to top it all I find out that there is a better provider (faster more reliable service etcn AND cheaper than the current one I am using) but as I have now got a contract for 18 months I can't get it - I am not going to pay twice. Oh gnash teeth....

there are days like that where it never seems to rain but it pours, it can never be just one thing if you are having a bad day then it has to be loads of things all at once

Oh well. I see that bthere hasnt been any input on this one now for over four months so I think that because of that, its safe enough to lock this one now. If the original poster does come back and want it open then she can open it all bt her self because she is a mod and she can do that, haha.
