Hi starapple,
Those are awesome. I have never seen anything like that before. The person or persons who did those are very creative. I espeically liked the one with the horse. There was some tedious work involved in carving the pictures out. I don't think I could cut into those to get any of the watermelon to eat. They are just too beautiful. Thanks for sharing those here.

Hi starapple, that is really amazing and very artistic. I also got the same email years back and still have it, i was also amazed by how they design the watermelon. I also got the art on eggshells and body paint, i wish i could find the email so i could upload it here too. I bet you also have those.

That kind of art is very famous in Thailand! I have did something like that in my class when I'm in primary school, about grade 5-6. It IS really hard to make them looks beautiful! I had been doing that with guava teachers tell us the pattern and how to do that. but I've made a big mess. Guess I've had push too hard on it.

Wow! What an amazing talent. And what is even more amazing is that these wonderful pieces of art were done using edible fruit. I wonder if they are ever sprayed to preserve them so that they don't rot. I can't imagine that someone can simply just continue to recreate art like the ones we saw in the pictures over and over again endlessly.

These watermelons are wonderful works of art. I have never seen anyone do this to a watermelon.
But how much time will they remain so atlast anyone has to eat it. Laughing
I wonder how long it takes one to make them?

I just love the artwork. That takes a lot of patience and time to do. I think this may give ice sculpting some competition. You can eat it and it will not melt so fast. Smile

Keep up the good work! I really enjoy seeing those photos. Smile

This is just great, every artist on it really possess its own uniqueness. It is good to see that they can carve any designs on it and it is very beautiful. I want to see it in actual if someone does it in actual. I think that is great by seeing someone doing that thing in the actual. Laughing

That's some really wonderful and pretty artwork made from the watermelons. It would be tough for me to make such artwork. You can make something really artistic with anything.

wow they are very beautiful indeed but I don't like it when people used food/fruits/vegetables to create art, is just a waste of food. That's my opinion.

Maybe someone eats them before they rot. I doubt it. Annoys me a bit as well really but not as much as the amount of fruit the UK throws away despite nothing being wrong with it. Did you know that if a Banana isnt the right shape they throw it away. There was a show on about it and it really did make awful viewing the amount of perfectly good food that we in the UK throw away every day. Its like millions of tons of the stuff!!! Mind boggling!!!!
