I always think it is sad that when people try to sort themselves out people like banks wont help they could have given you a basic bank account one simply to put money in and take it out no over drafts or credit cards. _________________ --------------I am who I am and your approval isn't needed
They definitely should help people out more, especially people who have gotten themselves into a similar situation as me. It's caused me to become stuck in a bit of a hole because now I find it difficult getting a job because most employers will only pay into a bank account.
It also looks bad the employer when I go for interviews and they ask for my bank details so they can pay me, I have to tell them I haven't got one! _________________ A madman who knows he is mad is close to sanity!!!

We don't have debts. We try to live within our means. The only time we'd get into debt is when we have a mortgage. Oh now I think about it, I have students loans from my uni days but they don't really count since you don't make any real effort to pay them back - it just comes off your wages when you earn over a certain amount and its not that much anyways.

Everyone always forgets about their mortgage but I think as you are paying off somethng that will eventually be yours it is an ok debt to have. _________________ --------------I am who I am and your approval isn't needed
It's all my own fault really, but personally I feel like I've already paid the price! I haven't been able to have any form of credit, not even utilities, for nearly a decade now. I have been talking to a lot of people recently about trying to get this sorted out for once and for all so I can get on with my life properly, it gets quite technical though, especially the legal side of things. _________________ A madman who knows he is mad is close to sanity!!!

At least you are trying to sort it out many dont and simply walk away whichs makes the problem greater for everyone else. _________________ --------------I am who I am and your approval isn't needed
I am definitely in debt. I don't have any credit cards but I still have lots of debt. It is hard to keep up with all the bills when you live on a fixed income like I do. And there are very few places around this area that will help in any way either. If the government doesn't do something fast, it is going to get real ugly and everyone is going to be suffering because of the price of things.
I have no idea if I already posted this or not, but I've got a pretty good idea for those who use creditors to consolidate their debt into one payment. Have them put your smallest debt at the top of your list and have it so the list goes on to your largest debt last. Each time you pay off one debt, it goes to the next smallest, and you'll pay off debt a lot quicker.
If you let them just jumble it all together without a plan, the debt amounts will be mixed. This will take much longer to pay off because there will usually be interest added onto the debt. This will also make it so you have to pay even more than the debt really is!

I try to do that as well pay off the smaller debts and then work on the bigger ones, they will get done just eventually. _________________ --------------I am who I am and your approval isn't needed
The problem is whether I try and consolidate all my debts into one or pay them off a bit at a time, they make it virtually impossible for me to pay them because they won't let me have a bank account when that's the only way that they'll accept payment from me! Really, they're stopping me from my paying my debts! _________________ A madman who knows he is mad is close to sanity!!!
I think everyone has a debt or it depends upon the situation.
When we talk about money there are people who has debt specially that there are more poor people than the rich ones. Poor people can't live without being debt just to have something to eat.
And some people are in debt because of gratitude. People may be in debt in gratitude because there are things that we do for other peoples good or just to help them. And that person owe us something.
You are right, people sometimes have no choice but to borrow money in order to support their living. These days are very hard that the easiest option is to borrow money, especially that financial institutions and microfinances are starting to flood the area. Other are loan sharks who, instead of helping, are making others lose more through their very high interest rates and penalties. The best way is that, you borrow money and invest it to business or other investment that has high returns than those you borrowed money from.
we cant realy blame it on anyone other than our selves realy as if we are all realy honest we have all brought things we could have done without in the past and some of these will have been on credit
our country, even the newly born children already have a debt because my country have a huge amount of debt from international bank that we pay through taxes. I believe many are in debt, but there are those who do not loan money in their entire life. and i envy those people. The good debt is good when the money you will loan will be put in your business and you have return of income or investment, so that you can pay the money that you loan and there is an additional money left for you from your profit. I hope when we loan we think something like that.
