Today in USA we celebrate labor day, also the last day of summer. Back to school and end of summer vacation. Headline in some of the newspaper 'it's sad day - labor day" because they are many million unemployed people. The truth is you cannot feel it. The stores full of people, the Casinos in Las vegas full of people and you can see the money changing hands. you don't see any beggers in the streets and things seems like yesterday or last year or couple of years ago. So why is the panic? I think big Corporations who were over stuffed decided to laid off some of their personals to save money on payroll, benefits and bonouces. Yes indeed they are several people unemployed but the Government extended unemployment benefits to about 2 years. I think lots of people are not so motivated to work knowing they can collect some money from uncle Sam.

Economical up and down are natural thing.I am agree with you i too cant see last year panic here in markets.Media is just making fuss of small issues.American economy has began to bottom out now.There is no need to worry.

I'm not from US but I can relate with your post. Here in our country, unemployment increases more but the difference is you can see them. The crimes got higher because of robbery and there are lots of beggars around but Malls and stores still have a lot of people. Casinos and hotel are always full of people. So I think they are very lucky for not thinking of the recession.

I don't think that economic down fall has effected USA much because it is a super power and the government is doing all the hard efforts and if there are poor conditions then I think the government is surely taking steps forward to make the markets stable. Here in India the conditions are worst. There are millions of people who have lost all there money and are now bank corrupt.

Down fall as affected every country more and less and yes America is worst affected but it doesnt mean it dont have power to come out of it.America need to change few basic things to come out of this depression completely though.

thats very good news for you. do you see the poor people in the casinos. so themillions are looking as several poeple to you i believe you havent lived a single day as an unemployed but you always heve been with a job thats why you cannot see those peoples' misery who have been poor . you cant imagine their pain.
