Well, i just got to this knitting club in my town and it was fun actually. But it seems that I can get a friend in my age in this club because most of them are the old ladies with oldies fashion style.
I think knit stuffs are cool and I want to make my own outfir using my knitting skill (soon!!) but I don't think it would be happening anytime soon since I can't discuss it with friends in the same age (or at least twenties so they're still up to date with the fashion week news)
Yes, this is the really first time I learn knitting... anyone learn knitting too?
I am a bloke, I tried knitting once and I was not very good at it. To be honest I was hopeless and it wont be a thing that I ever try to do again. Yvonne said I was a terrible student, and you know what, she was right.
No one succeed in the first attempt, Jimbo45. I think it is interesting to learn knitting, and to be honest I have never heard any guys admitted that they learned knitting before. Not in my country at least.
My target for now is to make a good scarf, because that's the easiest to do. Can i post picture of what I made here?
Well I was laid up in bed with a bad leg and foot injury and I thought trying to learn something new might help me pass the time, but all it did was make my leg and foot even more sore!!! Never again.
how i wish i know knittingg. i know how to just hold the needle thing but my problem is i cannot connect it to make an object or a thing, but im good with crosstitch. my mother is good with knitting, pity i did not let her teach me.
Just think Janyen, if you could knit you could knit your self and your husband matching cardigans for next winter which I bet would come in really handy.
Yes I learned to knit as a child, But you should maybe stick to easier things it takes people that have been knitting for years to actually be able to knit a sweater or something like that. I tried to knit a vest a few years ago and so messed it up. I then went back to knitting scarves, balls, mittens, and baby booties. I figured I was better off sticking with what I knew. I think if you want to learn more try to learn from the old ladies. It may help you to reach your goals faster. _________________ When in doubt let a man do it.
I started to learn recently. I got half way through a scarf and my sister laughed at it as it was quite tough and stiff so I pulled it to pieces. There is a place you can donate knitted squares and they make them into blankets for old people so I think I'll do that for the moment.
I'm glad you are enjoying this knitting club and that you like what you're doing. Knitting can be very soothing and most of all can bring a sense of accomplishment when we are finally able to see the end result of our work.
Not everyone has the patience to stick with it until things are finished though
I am one of them LOL I know how to knit and I wished I could finish a knitting project - there are such pretty things I can make -. However although I seem to be patient with other things, I really am not that patient when it comes to knitting. I want to see things finished. Fast. And that is not the best way to go about it
I am sure that although right now there aren't many people your age in this group, you might be able to recruit a few friends and then it will be easier to get more _________________ I didn't escape. They gave me a free pass.....
arkaf, I am sure you were one of those who tried to encourage me to knit or to learn to when I first posted about it years ago elsewhere. I seem to remeber the post now,
I was a bit ill at the time and I thought I would try anything to help with the boredom, and I never did manage.
I remember i learned to knit by watching on television, Im a college student then. I admire the project so I really do my best to learned it. I was able to make a pouch bag for myself and for my friends. but i stopped but now i'm interested to learnm more especially now that I saw a lot of techniques here in the net. lol _________________ I'm a mother of three wonderful kids!!!
I've also interest in knitting....but i've eye sight problem so not able to go for that but i love to create new new things of my own.... _________________ Swapna
I was asked to go through the posts in this section and lock any with no input for over four months. I was also told that if anyone wanted the posts opened again, they should contact one of the moderators stating the reason for re-opening and supplying the link to the original post. Thanks.
