Here in the UK, it seems like they are always hiring people Ostara, its mostly students I think who work in their places. Its a pity they aint hiring there, but you should go in and ask them to keep you in mind the next time that they are looking to take someone on.
I think that must be both! Getting paid helps us. It can be a moral booster for us to work hard. At the same time, getting praise if we should compare it over getting paid, this is a more moral booster!
i can't say which is which for now but as you say we need money in some instance of our life. but being praised can bring you to promotion from work and then you will be given the appropriate salary for your performance. there are lots of people found money somewhere and worth millions of pesos but they choose to return it. after that one, they are published in tv shows, praised and was given a certain amount for a reward.
i like money better than compliments I dont appreciates compliments, money talks better but a little compliments would do just fine. i mean i wouldn't reject any compliments given to me. but if i have to choose, i prefer the big mean green _________________ Pm me for more info
Compliments don't keep my thirst for pepsi and vodka away so I would rather go with the payment If I em payed I know that I did a good job so that is a compliment already.

i like that!! money does talk better and more often than not.. it talks all the time! hehe _________________ When I had nothing to lose, I had everything.
Well if you are at work and you got a bonus then that is praise in itself because you wouldn't have got paid if you had done something wrong. So definitely the money would come in useful and I can always find something to spend it on _________________ Early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese!
True, I reckon we can all find something to spend it on. I would probably just put it in my bank, although with interest rates being so poor for savers, its not really worth it.
@jimbo. the bank interest is currently low in there? you are in scotland right? the stock prices drops as the people are too afraid to invest in stock nor obligations or any product in capital or forex market they should raise the interest in saving products in the bank. if the investment dropping, they should raise the bank interest. it is not wise to invest in stocks or any capital market nowadays, the rates just keep falling and certain financial companies i know are not in healthy financial condition anymore. I got concern cause i am investing in one of the financial company in UK. _________________ Pm me for more info
Ah, but the reverse side of the coin is that property prices are falling and the mortgage rate is great for those people investing in property. People will benefit from this crisis, thats for sure, because the economy will recover and then cheap investments in property now will repay themselves many times over in the future. Its a waiting game, and I for one can wait.
Personally:A full days work = A full days pay. The compliment is free. Hire someone to decorate your home and you love it. All the oohhs and aahhs won't cut it. Pay me. _________________ One day I may actually retire.
Yes, I agree, when I do a job for someone as long asI get paid for doing the job right nothing else really matters. A great job well done compliment doesnt buy me a Rib Eye Steak
If its work I would rather have the money, and in its own way it serves as praise to. A compliment is great, and is most welcome, but a sum of money I can spend on something for me and Yvonne. I would take the money, and like I say, take the money as a compliment on a job well done.
I agree with jimbo. Money from work, in this case let's say it was a pay raise, is a form of compliment. It only means you're doing a good job and your employer saw and appreciated it, thus, the raise.
It would be hypocritical on my part if I say that I don't need the money. If both can be chosen, then fine and good. But if I had t choose only one, I might have to settle for the praise. I consider it a sweeter compliment. Then I'd use it to ask for a salary increase. _________________ Link removed by admin, please see new rules
I was like that before when I was a newly graduate and had my first job. I wanted to receive a praise from my supervisor because for me that is a fulfillment and it means I am learning from the job. But as life gets older and there is recession being praised is not really big thing. Being practical I want to be paid. I want my payment be equal to my performance. But there is an advantage of being praised by your boss as he can recommend you to other company when you are going to separate. You can use them as your reference person to help you land a job in your choosen career.
if its a job then id rather have money than praises, hard times now, praises wont buy food, its like an incentive, and most would probably choose money than praise. but if its something else other than job, a tap on the back is ok, no need for words. _________________ he is faithful that promised
