As for me I think it is great! My son is a stay at home dad and takes care of the kids and on top of that he home schools them. He does a excellent job. For those of you who think school is needed at least for the kids to socialize. He has three kids and when I take my grandkids to McDonalds or to the playground they interact wonderfully. So that is not a issue. They are 11, 13 and 14. Their knowledge is excellent and they far exceed kids going to school. He sets certain time in the day that they are doing classwork and he helps them when they need help. He is constantly looking for things to expand their knowledge. He takes them on trips and asks them questions and they will ask him. If he doesn't know an answer he tells them he doesn't but that he will find the answer for them. I think it is great that he has the ability to do this. The kids benefit from it and he covers a lot of ground with the lessons everyday.
What do you think of homeschooling? |

| hello ladybug, it is nice to hear about your son being home schooled like that. i do not think that i have the smarts to home school my two boys. my eleven year old son is in the fifth grade this year in school and he makes either the honor role or the principal's list everytime that the report cards roll around in school. and my eight year old son, could be doing better. not saying that he is failing school or anything like that. he is just all boy, and doesn't have his mind on his school work half of the time. he would rather be doing something else. lol like riding his bike, or playing basketball. but i do know of a couple of people that live in my neighborhood that do home school their children and i see nothing wrong with it. i wish your son all of the best of luck in being home schooled. and it does sound like that he is doing really well at his studies. |
