Nice pictures of the falls. My favorite time of the year to go up there and see them is in the middle of wintertime. It's so beautiful with all the ice from the mist frozen to the trees, bushes, and all. Every surface is coated in ice and it's the whole scene looks like it's made of glass. Then at night they put those colored lights on it and wow, it's just breathtaking!! _________________ OK, who stopped payment on my reality check?

Due to the forceful movement of the waterfalls it takes with it 1 inch of dirt and rocks with it. Therefore, the falls moves back because the land gets washed away. It is amazing to see and I think everyone should take the opportunity to go there and while they are at it take your kids or grandkids there. It will all change by the time the kids grow up. Mother Nature is just an awesome thing to experience. _________________ Today is a Gift, not your giving right!

Beautiful pictures. However, there is nothing anyone could give me to walk out on that fall. With my luck, the darn thing would probably defrost somewhere upstream, causing a flow beneath the ice. Eventually the stream under the ice becomes more faster as the force of the water from upstream increases under the ice pushing the frozen ice from the bottom. Then as the ice is losed from the bottom,the upstream force would eventually become too much for the ice downstream to withstand and it falls off in a big ole water fall chunk taking me and everyone else crazy enough to be standing out there on it. Call me a scary yellow cat chicken.....I will stay on real land where the stream never flows.
PS: Only a scary yellow cat chicken will probably be able to comprehend this mental vision of this type of mishap _________________ One day I may actually retire.

Jsitko...I am also a lover of nature, but I respect it. I enjoyed the hurricanes we had a couple of years ago..3 to be exact. I stood inside my garage and watch each one. I have a real desire to go on one of those tours for storm chasers of tornados!!!!! However, those guy are supposed to be experts. I will be vacationing in Texas this summer and will be searching to see if there are any storm chasing tours. Those guys suppose to know which direction the tornado will take, so I want to see another one. The first was too close, too unexpected, and too short lived.
PS: I must admit...When I see those guys (don't recall any females) out there on the ocean when they KNOW a hurricane is approaching.....I wonder about them. _________________ One day I may actually retire.
