Most of the peoples are using the washing machine to wash their clothes in order to get clean as well as neat , but some types of clothes need hand washing only, due to its softness of cloths likes silk and cotton. you must do hand wash for certain types of clothes in order to keep the quality as well as the color of the clothes. Do you likes to use washing machine..... or like to use hand wash .........
Most types of clothing these days can be washed in washing machines as washing machines have improved the range of washing cycles they have. We dont hand wash anything at all now. Even the most delicate fabrics can be washed in a machine so no need for hand washing.
I agree with Jimbo that most types of clothing can be washed in washing machines these days. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment building and their washers aren't the best and don't have all the cycles that newer ones have. So, I still do some handwashing which I don't mind. The problem I have is where to hang the clothes after I handwash them.

I generally use washing machine for all the clothes. And ya all the clothes that need special care, I give them for dry cleaning because it is very difficult to wash them by hands. Except that I just dump all the clothes in the machine and wash them because I have many other work to do as well so to save time I do all this. _________________ Mohak....
I do use the washing machine most of the times to wash my clothes. But some clothes are too delicate or heavy to put into a washing machine. So I have to hand wash them.
not really. Our washing machine has these adjustments. There are buttons to set mode of washing for delicate clothes.we dont wash delicate clothes with hand anymore. _________________ London bridge is falling down.
I once did a post somewhere else, called Washing clothes, River or Washing Machine
I think it got 400 replies and no one believed I sent Yvonne and champion our donkey on a 6 mile round trip to the river to hand wash the lot
And in all weathers, lol

hello sam, i do not think that my family or myself has anything that cannot be washed in the washing machine and then thrown into the dryer. i even wash all of our jackets and coats. i even wash my london fog winter coat with woolite in the washing machine on the gentle cycle. _________________ I'll get you my little pretty, and your little dog too!
I have been hand washing since I moved out from my sister's house. I have not yet purchased a washing machine yet.. and gawd, it is really hard to hand wash! I consume 4 hours to finish the clothes. I even get rashes on my hands because of the detergent bar. Poor me. _________________ Do not talk when your mouth is full.
I wash most things in the washing machine but some things I do wash by hand if they look delicate or maybes something with strong colours, I wash those by hand sometimes for the first wash and watch all the dye run out haha. I often wash my bikini by hand too as I often need it for the next day so do a quick hand wash when I get in from the pool then stick it out to dry for an hour. I do have more bikinis of course but with these things you always have a favourite that you prefer to wear...
I only handwash clothes if the washing machine breaks down and won't be repaired within a few days. I have to wash clothes mostly every other day and then one day a week I have about 4 loads between towels and bedding. Some of our clothes are handwash only or delicate, so I use either cycle on the washing machine for those. I will only ever buy a washing machine that has the delicates/handwash option. I hate handwashing clothes! _________________ Fiona
It is much more time saving and practical to wash clothes in the machine. especially towels, bed sheets and bed covers and the like...
But I do like to hand wash certain garments . I feel that it comes out cleaner when we hand wash clothes. it is just the lack of time .Most garments come out very clean while machine washed...It is only when there is hidden dirt and stubborn stains that it is better to hand wash the clothes... _________________ "Beauty is truth, truth beauty" - that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.
I agree with you in saying that there are clothes not meant for washing via the machine. And like you, I also do the combination of both in washing our clothes.
What clothes to hand wash depends on the materials used. The delicate it is, the more reason for me to hand wash it.

I couldn't agree more with you. Why hand wash bed sheets, curtains, towels and the like when there is machine which can do it for us? It is indeed time-saver. While washing the clothes via the washing machine, we can still do alot of things. We can cook, clean the house or take care of our kids.
For me, life is getting easier with the advent of machines which help us in our everyday chores.
