I love the fries when it is dip in vanilla ice cream only. When i go to fast foods and order fries, It will always have a partner of vanilla ice cream or sundae because they are perfect combination for me.

My kids dip theirs in ranch dressing, which I guess is popular these days. I don't know when that started. Anyway, I am old school and I still dip mine in ketchup.

I still like totally undipped french fries, though. The thing is, if I do that I put way too much salt on the fries, because I love the salty flavor. So basically I'm better off just going ahead and dipping in the ketchup for my zingy flavor. I have also heard of people using various types of salad dressing as dips but it doesn't appeal to me.

@ Mr. Jimbo - Ranch dressing is basically a condiment - mixture of buttermilk or sour cream, mayonnaise, green onion (minced), garlic powder and sometimes onion powder. Other people add more spices to that - but it can be store bought. It's popular as a salad dressing, and most recently as a dipping sauce. It's quite fattening -as you can tell. That's why I refrain from the stuff. Anyway, to answer the forum question - I prefer In-N-Out fries, and I usually just add more salt and that's it. I like potatoes - and in-n-out, that's fresh potatoes (french fries) right there. They're yummy without any sauces or anything.

Fattening, well I guess I will be giving that a miss then but thanks for the explanation. Does sound rather tasty though.

Hey all those dips are delicious and I am really starting to crave for them now. I usually dip them in catsup too. But if I have those other dips available, I would prefer them over the boring ketchup Question

Hello everyone! Nice info on Ranch dressing you got there. It made my mouth water while reading it. The only downside to that is it's fattening. I would try one of those one of this days.

Anyway I like my french fries dip in tomato ketchup but most of the time I go for the dip that is the mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise. Yum Yum

I love to deep french fries on chicken gravy. I don't like catsup. I like mayonaise and chicken gravy or eat it alone. The reason I don't like catsup is that I have been working in manufacturing of tomato sauce before and we also have catsup there, I got fed up by the smell and of course the taste because for everyday of our life there we taste catsup everyday/

I like to dip fries in ketchup too, nothing else really. But I do like to have my fries seasoned with salt, black pepper and a generous amount of vinegar. But for dipping ketchup is usually enough to keep me happy.

This topic is making me hungry Very Happy Anyways, when I do order fries ,i just eat it without dipping it on any sauce. They already mixed salt on it so it is tasty enough for me.If the salt is not enough then I'll ask for a sachet of ketchup so i can dip it in there.KFC offers gravy to be paired with fries and it taste great as well.Dipping it on a sundae is also something that I have tried, got it from a friend who does it every summer since it can get pretty hot in here during the season. Laughing
