I reckon that we are pretty boring in our house ..we have most rooms done in pale colours and weve always gone for the pale colours.We have cream and pale pinks...but my daughters both go for thr fashionable colours and they love the colours of the 1970s the browns and the creams....one has her bedroom done in a sage green and it really looks great!!....what colours have you got in your house?

Lots of pastels, no vibrant colours, with the pastels we can change the decor by changing the soft furnishings. We have lots of buttercreams and duck egg and browns.

Yes the pastels are a good backdrop ,as you say they let you change your soft furnishings.There are very lovley soft furnishings in the shops at the moment,some of the bedding for instance is beautiful,and if you look around there is some that isnt terrfically expensive ,we saw some really lovely comforter quilts in a shop nearby,and they were working out at twenty six pounds..GBP for a double.The wallapaper is again back in fashion,but if you wallpaper one wall then you are again tied as to what colours you can put with the room.All of the home fashion programmes advocate using pastel shades

All of my walls are either white or soft pale yellow. I agree you can always punch it up with pretty bright colors. I also have many,many trees and plants. I love as much light as I can get, I have many windows. That's why my whole house is painted in very,very light or white colors.

I think a dark house is so depressing and sad.

Our house is all done in white. My parents prefer it because it's basic and standard and traditional. I prefer colours though - especially saturated hues. I agree that you have to be careful about using darker colours, and sometimes it won't work out, but on the other hand the walls don't have to be pale to be neutral.

Half of my room is essentially wallpapered with this amazing graveyard scene with deep purple/blue sky. I'll be fixing up the other wall soon, so it will look like a stone wall. And it makes me very happy. Smile Of course, it makes the furniture a bit trickier to place, but when I'm in a room I like to feel that I'm in it.

I am not a big "color" person. I do have red in my living room and TV room, but only as an accent color, not on the walls LOL.
We just got new furniture and my sectional is beige with zebra print pillows and we got the zebra print chaise too. They are pretty neutral, but I added red accents for some color and it works.

We are pretty neutral here ourselves. I am living in my parents' home. When I am living on my own, I was using burgundy and deep blue highlights for things like couch pillows and scarves on the furniture.

I had a lot of jewel tones in greens,deep reds, blues, in my bedroom and probably will go back to those. I had gathered several sets of bathroom rugs and liked to change those up. I was needing new furniture and since I couldn't afford to change that, then I liked to change the small things to use as highlights.

My rented flat at the moment is all white and the furniture doesn't match and is very random (it was a furnished house). I like colour myself so when we buy I place I think it'll be fairly colourful. My bedroom at my parents house was yellow green and blue and they hated it. They just redecorated it for me as we hope to move in with them temporarily soon, to pale blue and pale brown and I have to say it does look lovely.

I live in a rental, so the colour is not my choice. It is all a a cream colour. Or almost cream anyway. I believe in stickons and borders and things like that. I would have everything in white if my wife allows, and then ad colour with borders, stripes and other nice things.

@janyen
Depends what blue. If it is a dark blue, I would ad bright yellow. Everything dark blue with a small spot of bright yellow
